PROJECT OVERVIEW

Bob’s Stores and Eastern Mountain Sports’ headquarters in Meriden, CT, is a retail company that focuses on outdoor recreation and sports equipment. In an effort to provide sustainable transportation options for its employees and customers, the company decided to install EV charging stations in their parking lot. THE ASK

One of the biggest challenges for this project was to ensure that the charging stations were accessible and easy to use for everyone. Inovis Energy worked with the client to determine the optimal location for the stations, taking into account the flow of traffic, parking capacity, and proximity to electrical infrastructure. Another challenge was to ensure that the project was eligible for Eversource Connecticut incentives, which required compliance with certain technical and financial criteria.

THE SOLUTION

Inovis Energy designed and installed two Chargepoint DC Fast charging stations and four ChargePoint dual-port level 2 charging stations for a total of six charging ports. The stations were strategically placed in the parking lot to maximize their accessibility and minimize the need for additional electrical infrastructure. Inovis Energy worked with its partner Apex Solar to perform the make-ready installation, including trenching, conduit, and electrical work. The stations were provided by Inovis Energy partner ChargePoint, a leading provider of EV charging solutions.
