The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) works closely with partners at local, regional, state, and federal levels to protect the state’s environment and promote economic growth and development for Michigan’s future. EGLE’s team of over 1,300 scientists, engineers, geologists, toxicologists, inspectors, technicians, managers, biologists, and support staff provide expert technical and pollution prevention assistance to businesses and individuals. This includes conducting approximately 30,000 site visits and inspections each year to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
